The procedural or surgical mask a loose-fitting disposable mask that protects the wearer’s nose and mouth from contact with droplets, splashes and sprays that may contain germs. Surgical masks may protect others by reducing exposure to the saliva and respiratory secretions of the mask wearer.
A 3 ply face mask is the proper surgical or medical that is composed of three layers with each layer has very specific functions:
Outer Layer: hydrophobic non-woven layer (translucent).
Designed to repel water, blood and body fluids.
Middle Layer: Melt-blown layer (white)
This is the most important layer because it is designed to filter bacteria & water droplets.
Contains a high-level static filtration to effectively block micro dust and bacteria.
Inner Layer: Soft absorbent non-woven layer (white)
Absorbs water, sweat & spit.
